Minibus and Private Driver Transport from the Barossa Valley to Clare Gourmet Weekend 2026

Australia’s oldest wine and food festival returns in May 2026. Clare Valley SCA Gourmet Weekend has been running since 1985 – over 40 years of cellar door events, gourmet dinners, live music, and world-class Riesling. The 2026 edition runs across four days from Thursday 15 May to Sunday 18 May, with 45+ events spread across the Clare Valley’s wineries and restaurants.

If you’re based in the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley is 1 hour 20 minutes from your door. From Adelaide CBD it’s 90 minutes. The roads wind through rolling vineyard country between cellar doors. And the whole point of a wine festival is to actually taste the wine.

You can’t do that if you’re driving.

Barossa & Light Cab Service runs dedicated minibus and people mover transport for Clare Gourmet Weekend 2026. We collect from the Barossa Valley or Adelaide CBD, take you to your chosen Clare Valley wineries, and bring you home safely at the end of the day.

We still have availability for all four festival days – but it is filling. Call 0400 631 631 today to check your date.

About Clare Valley SCA Gourmet Weekend

The Clare Gourmet Weekend is no ordinary festival. It began at a kitchen table in 1985 and has grown into one of Australia’s most celebrated regional wine and food events. In 2026, it coincides with the finale of Tasting Australia, meaning even more visitors will be making their way to the Clare Valley in May.

What makes the Clare Valley special is its Riesling. The region is Australia’s home of dry Riesling, with higher altitude vineyards producing wines of striking mineral precision, lime citrus, and extraordinary ageing potential. Producers like Jim Barry, Pikes, Skillogalee, Mitchell Wines, and Knappstein have cemented Clare Valley’s reputation as one of the country’s great wine destinations.

How We Differ from the Official Festival Buses

The official Clare Gourmet Weekend runs an Adelaide bus transfer from Franklin St for $57 per person – a fixed shared service on a set schedule. That works for some people. But if you want a private experience, or if you’re coming from the Barossa rather than Adelaide, it’s not the right product.

Two Service Options for Clare Gourmet Weekend 2026

We run two transport options for Clare Gourmet Weekend. Both depart from the Barossa Valley or Adelaide CBD. Neither involves local pickups within Clare Valley – we operate regional transfers, not short runs between venues on the day.

Option 1: Minibus Group Transfer

The right choice for larger groups who want transport sorted from door to door. We collect your group in our minibus, drive to Clare Valley, stop at your selected wineries during the festival, and bring everyone home at the end of the day.

  • Vehicle: Minibus (up to 11 passengers)
  • Pickup: Barossa Valley accommodation or Adelaide CBD
  • Destinations: Multiple Clare Valley wineries during Gourmet Weekend
  • Return: Back to Barossa or Adelaide at day’s end
  • Not available: Local transfers within Clare Valley or pickups within Clare Valley itself

Option 2: Exclusive Private Tour with Dedicated Driver

Ideal for smaller groups and those who want full flexibility over the day. You get a dedicated people mover and driver. We pick you up from the Barossa or Adelaide, and from there you choose which wineries to visit in Clare Valley during the Gourmet Weekend. Your driver takes you to each one and brings you home when you’re done.

  • Vehicle: People mover (suited to smaller groups)
  • Pickup: Barossa Valley accommodation or Adelaide CBD
  • Destinations: Your choice of Clare Valley wineries
  • Return: Back to Barossa or Adelaide when you’re ready
  • Not available: Local Clare Valley pickups or short hops within Clare Valley

Both options are priced on request. Call 0400 631 631 for a quote.

Clare Gourmet Weekend 2026: Frequently Asked Questions

Can you pick us up from within Clare Valley on the day?

No – for getting between venues within Clare Valley during the festival, the official hop-on/off shuttle is the right option. It operates across three loops from the Clare Valley Wine Food and Tourism Centre (see clarevalleygourmet.com.au). Our job is getting you from the Barossa or Adelaide to Clare Valley and bringing you home.

How far in advance should we book?

We still have availability for all four festival days (15-18 May) but it is filling. Call 0400 631 631 today to check your preferred date and secure your booking.

What if we’re a small group of 2-4 people?

We can accommodate smaller groups in a people mover with an exclusive driver. The vehicle is yours for the day – you choose the wineries, you control the pace. Call 0400 631 631 for a quote.

Can we choose which wineries we visit?

Yes, with the Exclusive Private Tour option. You select the Clare Valley wineries or events you want to attend and your driver takes you there. We recommend locking in your winery bookings before your transport date, as popular events sell out early.

Do you pick up from outside Adelaide CBD?

Yes – call us with your address and we’ll provide a quote. The base rate is from Adelaide CBD; suburban pickups are available at an adjusted rate.

Do you offer Barossa pickup from specific towns?

Yes. We can collect from anywhere in the Barossa region – Tanunda, Nuriootpa, Angaston, Lyndoch, Seppeltsfield, or your specific winery accommodation. Just let us know your address when booking.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on group size, pickup location, and day of travel. Call 0400 631 631 for an accurate quote. We use fixed-rate pricing with no surge charges.

How is this different from the official festival Adelaide bus?

The official festival bus departs Franklin St, Adelaide on a fixed shared schedule for $57 per person. We offer private door-to-door transport from the Barossa Valley or your Adelaide address – your group has the vehicle to yourselves, and we pick up from your door rather than a central bus station.
