What Award Did Orleana Restaurant Win?

Orleana restaurant won national Gold in the Contemporary Australian Restaurant – Formal category at the 2026 Hostplus Awards for Excellence. Restaurant & Catering Australia presented the awards at Doltone House, Sydney, on 25 October 2026. Arrana in Springwood, NSW, took Silver. Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar in Mermaid Beach, QLD, took Bronze.

The Hostplus Awards for Excellence are Restaurant & Catering Australia’s annual industry awards. According to Glam Adelaide’s winners list, venues are independently judged on food, service, presentation, operations and the overall guest experience.

Orleana was one of two Barossa Gold winners. Hentley Farm Restaurant in Seppeltsfield won Gold for Restaurant in a Winery. South Australia collected 13 national medals: 2 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze. Queensland’s Attimi by Dario Manca was named Restaurant of the Year.

Jake Kellie credited the team, including head chef Jimmy and sous chef Nick. “I’m stoked for the whole team, they have been working really hard,” he told Glam Adelaide.

Orleana and the MICHELIN Guide

The Gold came less than two weeks after the first MICHELIN Guide South Australia, announced on 14 October 2026. MICHELIN Selected means a restaurant is recommended in the guide without a Star or Bib Gourmand. MICHELIN lists Orleana’s cuisine as Australian Contemporary, with a price rating of $$$. Its inspectors call the Ferguson lobster roll a house favourite.

Nearby Hentley Farm received One MICHELIN Star. See our Hentley Farm guide or our FINO Seppeltsfield guide to compare Barossa restaurants.

About Orleana and Kingsford The Barossa

Kingsford The Barossa is a luxury retreat on 225 acres beside the Para River. Its homestead dates from 1856. Gourmet Traveller notes that many people will recognise it as Drover’s Run from McLeod’s Daughters. Salter Brothers Hospitality operates the estate.

Orleana sits in the estate’s lodge, with floor-to-ceiling windows over the landscape. Glam Adelaide describes it as light and airy rather than dim and moody. The restaurant is open to the public as well as hotel guests.

The estate also has the Peppertree Pool & Bar and a 25-metre underground wine tunnel with six vaulted chambers. Gourmet Traveller says the tunnel holds a rare museum collection of Penfolds Grange and Henschke Hill of Grace, and tastings can be arranged. Guests stay in eight heritage rooms and suites in the homestead, or in four View suites with private plunge pools.

Kingsford says it will soon join the Ardour Hotels & Estates collection as Ardour Kingsford Barossa. Expect the name to change on signs and booking pages.

Jake Kellie is Orleana’s Culinary Director. He was appointed in 2025 and continues to oversee arkhé, the open-fire restaurant he founded in Norwood in 2021. From 2017 to 2019 he was head chef of Burnt Ends in Singapore, which won its first MICHELIN Star during that time.

Orleana Restaurant Menu and Prices
